NEW ZEALAND, Auckland-19 February,
2007 - New Zealand computing infrastructure service provider
Revera has expanded its storage hardware offerings, signing on as a
Network Appliance (NetApp) storage reseller.
The addition of a NetApp unified storage solution set to Revera's
existing storage range means Revera is able to offer customers a
wider choice of enterprise storage vendors, for its VDC (Virtual
Data Centre) hosting services and direct sales.
Roger Cockayne, Revera managing director, says the agreement with
NetApp marks a new chapter in the development of his company. "We
have a significant legacy as expert storage managers and to
effectively leverage this experience we needed to broaden our range
of storage offerings," says Cockayne.
Garry Collings, NetApp New Zealand's country manager, says the
agreement is in line with his company's approach in New Zealand to
partnering with a small number of high value resellers. "In a
market like New Zealand the game is most certainly quality, not
quantity. We have watched Revera's progress with interest and are
very pleased to now be working with them. They have a significant
footprint and an infrastructure model that puts them at the centre
of some of the most business critical information in New
Zealand."
Cockayne says the partnership with NetApp complemented Revera's
enterprise storage and hosting platform solutions by providing a
feature-rich storage solution with simplified data management.
"NetApp provides an easy to manage feature-rich disk solution to
meet FC-SAN, IP-SAN and NAS requirements within a single box. No
other vendor has this integrated, mature technology on the
market."
NetApp has strengths in replication and data migration that will
add significant advantages to the rollout of Revera's DataCloud,
remote backup and restore services, and flexible disaster recovery
solutions, says Cockayne.
