- Network Appliance, Inc. (NetApp), a world leader in unified
storage solutions, has appointed Peter O'Connor as managing
director for Australia and New Zealand.
In his new role O'Connor will be responsible for all aspects of
NetApp's business in Australia and New Zealand with all members of
the local management team reporting to him.
O'Connor has 20 years experience in the IT industry with
organisations including Macromedia (now Adobe), i2 Technologies,
System Software Associates and IBM.
Prior to joining NetApp, O'Connor held the role of vice president
Asia Pacific for Macromedia Inc, where he was responsible for
building Macromedia's regional business to a level where it was a
significant contributor to worldwide sales. During O'Connor's four
years in this role, the company's revenue tripled and O'Connor was
instrumental in signing several new business deals with
international partners.
O'Connor's other roles have included regional vice president South
Asia for i2 Technologies, general manager South Asia for SSA and
various senior sales and marketing positions for IBM in Australia
and China.
Charlie Trentacosti, vice president and general manager for Asia
Pacific at Network Appliance, said, "Peter's appointment to this

previous roles in Australia and around Asia Pacific."

O'Connor replaces Simon Green, who was previous managing director
for NetApp, Australia and New Zealand. Green has been promoted to
Vice President Go-to-Market Strategy Network Appliance.
