SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, - 27 AUGUST 2012
- NetApp has opened its new Brisbane office demonstrating
an increased commitment to a growing list of customers and channel
partners in Queensland. NetApp's growth mirrors the increasing need
for more agile data storage solutions across all industries. Data
growth in Australia is approximately 50% per annum, which requires
new innovative techniques to manage more efficiently. This is a
major reason why NetApp's industry leading features have been in
growing demand resulting in 35% local revenue growth in the past
twelve months.
NetApp first began a presence in Brisbane in
June 2007 with the appointment of a state sales manager to better
meet its customers' storage and data management needs. That single
appointment has now grown to 14, with plans to further invest in
additional resources to help support a diverse customer portfolio
and to assist in partner enablement. The Queensland partner
community also reaps the benefits of NetApp's growing presence. In
less than five years, NetApp's Queensland partner community has
grown from a single reseller to 15 certified resellers that in
total employ well over 400 Queensland-based employees.
"Data management and analysis is now at an
inflection point and if not correctly managed can fast become a
business headache because of the sheer size of data being
generated," said Simon Green, Vice President and General Manager of
NetApp, Asia Pacific.
"Our focus is to help organisations drive
down data centre and infrastructure costs whilst helping them store
growing volumes of date more efficiently. Take the Mantra Group for
example, in three short years it went from 17 to 120 hotels.
Without a NetApp solution, this kind of growth would be challenging
to manage."
Mr Green concluded that the opening of
NetApp's Brisbane office is proof that its strategy to stimulate
greater business for its partner community, and greater efficiency
and savings for its customers is paying off.
The opening was officiated by the Hon Ros
Bates, MP, Minister for Science, IT, Innovation and the Arts. The
Minister congratulated NetApp on their recent success as she opened
their first permanent Brisbane-based office.
"NetApp has doubled its Brisbane staff in the
past 12 months and further growth is expected. With more than 150
offices worldwide, I'm pleased NetApp is able to call Brisbane
home,' Ms Bates said.
"NetApp recently achieved second place in the
2012 BRW Best Place to Work awards and no doubt the new office will
provide an environment that continues to foster an enjoyable and
stimulating workplace to enable NetApp employees to support its
customers," the Minister added.
