SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – 22 November, 2012 – NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) today announces the expansion of its Australian business with the senior appointment of Michael Steer as district manager – Federal & ACT branch manager. Steer will be responsible for the strategy and direction of developing NetApp's Federal business, and will be an integral part of NetApp's success in this area.
A 25-year plus veteran of the Australian IT industry, Steer previously served as account director – defence, at EMC for six years where he successfully grew sales delivering more than $70M during that time. His appointment at NetApp additionally builds on his experience servicing the Australian Government as Federal Government manager and ACT operations manager at Fuji Xerox. He is well- positioned to understand the Australian Federal Government's need for IT consolidation, and help deliver to customers NetApp's innovative and customised agile storage and data management solutions that enable increased efficiency and service delivery.
