Deployment Guide Streamlines Implementation of VMware View for NetApp Infrastructure
Sydney, Australia - 17 June,
2009 - NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) today announced the
availability of the first consolidated reference guide for a
2,000-seat pool of desktops (POD)-based architecture to help
customers deploy VMware View™ on NetApp® and Cisco Nexus
infrastructures. The guide provides customers with the framework to
deploy their own integrated desktop virtualization solutions
quickly and cost-effectively. The POD-based design approach enables
customers to easily scale incrementally to meet ever-changing
business needs.
Previously customers had to leverage several
different reference documents in order to gather the details
necessary for the combined solution. The new guide consolidates all
of the manual design and configurations from individual reference
documents, providing customers with proven, tested solutions that
eliminate guesswork and simplify deployment cycles. As a result,
customers experience lower costs and more reliable results, faster.
Additionally, since the documented architecture can scale and
deploy incrementally to meet individual customer requirements,
channel partners are able to shorten their sales cycles. This
desktop virtualization deployment guide is yet another example of
the strong three-way relationship between NetApp, Cisco, and VMware
that provides customers with proven data centre solutions.
