KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - August 9,
2011 - HeiTech Managed Services (HMS), Fujitsu Malaysia
and NetApp Malaysia today announced a strategic alliance to provide
integrated and automated storage and data management solutions to
Malaysian companies. Leveraging each other's expertise, the
companies will offer integrated products and services specifically
in the areas of virtualization, storage and data management, and
storage services and solutions. This relationship will enable local
customers to derive greater value and efficiencies from their
dynamic infrastructures.
Executives from HMS, Fujitsu and NetApp
gathered at the launch of NetApp's new cloud technologies to
formally commence the partnership between the three companies.
Under this partnership, HMS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HeiTech
Padu Berhad and local ICT infrastructure solutions provider is
appointed NetApp Malaysia's first go-to-market partner in the areas
of Disaster Recovery as a service (DRaaS) and Storage as a service
(StaaS) to corporate clients in the government and financial
services sectors. Fujitsu Malaysia is appointed as NetApp's
go-to-market systems integrator for delivering tightly integrated
and automated cloud management solutions and services to help
customers more quickly to the cloud.
Abdul Halim Md. Lassim, CEO of HMS said, "It
is a truly exciting step forward for us to be working with NetApp
as we add an important area of expertise to our portfolio. With the
growing importance of data management storage within the datacenter
environment, our ability to create and offer comprehensive
solutions for our customers depends on having this expertise to add
to our services."
"IT organizations today require flexible IT
environments that allow them to keep pace with the ever-changing
market. Our partnership with NetApp enables us to deliver trusted
cloud solutions and services for our customers, resolving the
burden of fixed costs and inflexible infrastructures. Together, we
provide innovative solutions that help companies use IT to respond
to the dynamic business needs and capitalize on new opportunities
for growth," said Charles Lew, President of Fujitsu Malaysia.
"As IT departments look for ways to be more
cost and operationally efficient, customer buying patterns are
shifting toward vendors with a more comprehensive and collaborative
approach to addressing their data center needs," said Andy Khoo,
Country Manager, NetApp Malaysia & Brunei. "Our strategic
alliance with HMS and Fujitsu will enable more companies to achieve
the IT efficiency benefits delivered by NetApp solutions."
Cloud computing has swiftly moved from
industry hype to a top IT initiative, as more CIOs build a private
cloud, evaluate service providers for public cloud services, or
employ a hybrid model that combines the best of both. Through an
innovative global ecosystem of cloud partners and a product
portfolio that offers new integrated cloud management capabilities
and pre-validated cloud infrastructure solutions, NetApp helps
enterprise customers accelerate and simplify their transition to
private, public, and hybrid cloud models.
As NetApp's Cloud Service Provider, HMS will
offer managed and distributed technology-based services and
solutions to its existing and potential customers across the
network from the HMS Data Center located in Bukit Jelutong, Shah
Alam. Offerings include storing, retrieving, and maintaining end
customers' data files using NetApp data storage products. Under
this partnership agreement, HMS is provided a NetApp demo gear to
deliver Proof of Concepts (POCs), test and qualify the solution
internally and even showcase the solution to HMS customers.
This partnership enhances HMS' competency in
providing cloud services opportunity in the area of Business
Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery and Data Protection
Services. It helps in developing differentiated, enterprise-class
cloud based solutions that incorporates NetApp storage technology.
With such initiative, this allows HMS to continue to innovate and
provide more value-added cloud offerings to its clients, increase
revenue as well as improve customer retention. Customers of HMS on
the other hand, will gain the benefits of cost reduction,
performance optimization, flexibility as well as greater security
features.
Under this partnership, NetApp customers will
benefit from Fujitsu's SAP Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), an
offering under its Cloud Offerings for ASEAN, which offers SAP
customers cost effective infrastructure services at a level of
availability that meets their business needs, while ensuring that
service levels are met for their mission critical requirements
across all aspects of their SAP landscape. The SAP IaaS follows a
globally standardized level of service and pricing that will
address the current challenges faced by multinationals in IT
infrastructure deployments and accessing data and applications, in
their expansion plans to multiple locations across the region.
This strategic alliance is built on a
well-established existing partnership between NetApp and Fujitsu
where both companies already have a proven track record of
providing customers with best-in-class products and solutions and a
shared vision of the datacenter of the future. Today's announcement
also serves to underline the synergies customers can expect from
both in extended product development, integration and a joint
go-to-market relationship between HMS, Fujitsu and NetApp.
