Singapore - June 28, 2011 -
NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) announced today it gained share in the Open
Networked Storage Category in CY2011Q1 and CY2010. The notable
performance earned NetApp the honor of being the fastest-growing
storage vendor in Singapore in the open networked storage, against
the general trend of flat year-on-year growth within the industry
in 2010.
According to the IDC Asia/Pacific Quarterly
Disk Storage Systems Tracker, Q1 2011, NetApp Singapore's factory
revenue represented a market share of 14.7 percent, a 36 percent
year-on-year growth in Q1 2011.
In 2010, NetApp more than doubled its factory
revenue year-on-year, with a market share of 15.5 percent - a
5-point gain from 2009. In terms of terabytes shipped, NetApp
registered an increase of 149 percent year-on-year, with a market
share of 22 percent in 2010, placing NetApp Singapore in the second
position in the open networked storage market.
Uplevelling the conversation
"The fiscal year 2011 has been a great one for us in Singapore
where we saw a 30 percent increase of new customers, with a good
mix of multinational corporations such as Thomson Reuters, SAP and
Xilinx, and Singapore enterprises such as CapitaLand, Hyflux and
Bank of Singapore. A big part of this success is due to NetApp's
increased focus on understanding the issues and challenges
organizations face today, and bringing to the table a holistic
solution that helps businesses achieve higher efficiency and
flexibility in their IT organization," said Loh Ching Soo, Country
Manager, NetApp Singapore.
Winning with partners
NetApp has strategically grown its partner ecosystem over the years
to broaden its reach to provide innovative data management
solutions to help customers achieve overall business success.
NetApp's channel network of global and regional system integrators,
service providers and value-added distributors also ensure that
customers have comprehensive on-the-ground support in their journey
to embrace today's technologies.
An important pillar in NetApp Singapore's
go-to-market strategy is the strong partner enablement program
which helps channel partners gain the knowledge and understanding
to offer consultative selling to customers. Key partners attend the
same training designed for NetApp employees, to ensure consistent
messaging and delivery of NetApp solutions. System integrators such
Dimension Data, NCS, PTC; consulting partners such as Accenture and
ViFX; distributor such as Avnet; focused partners such as Biomedia,
Chass, Fujitsu and Softsource; and technology partners such as
Cisco, Citrix, CommVault, F5, VMware, and Microsoft, all help to
ensure NetApp customers have access to leading products, solutions
and services for their data centers.
"Doing business with NetApp is easy and that
is why NetApp and Dimension Data (formerly known as Datacraft)
share a highly fruitful partnership. By leveraging NetApp's
innovations in virtualization and the cloud, Dimension Data is able
to provide end-to-end solution offerings to our joint clients,"
said Png Kim Meng, Managing Director of Dimension Data Singapore.
"As clients today demand solutions to increase the efficiency and
flexibility of their data centers, Dimension Data expects our
partnership with NetApp to strengthen, especially in helping our
clients maximize their existing infrastructure."
"We are proud to work with industry leaders
like NetApp. Teaming up with NetApp since 1998 has enabled PTC to
help customers transit to a flexible and efficient IT
infrastructure. With IT emerging as a major business driver for
enterprises, PTC sees our ongoing partnership with NetApp to grow
even more relevant in the future," said SS Lim, Managing Director
of PTC System (s) Pte. Ltd, a system integrator and long-term
NetApp business partner.
