NetApp Malaysia Leverages Storage Strength to Expand Business Oppurtunities
KUALA LUMPUR
,
Malaysia . - September 11, 2009 - NetApp
(NASDAQ: NTAP) today announced its business commitment in Malaysia
to help customers transform their data center architectures through
higher efficiencies and asset utilization, greater power and space
savings with innovative data management techniques.
Mano Govindaraju, Country Manager, NetApp
Malaysia, attributed this to healthy product sales and the need for
companies to seek more cost-effective storage solutions amidst
challenging economic pressures.
"Storage efficiency is seen to be the primary
demand driver to gain power and space savings in this difficult
economic period. In this context, NetApp offers a 50 percent
Virtualization Guarantee* Program for VMware®, Citrix®
and Microsoft® virtual environments to help companies use 50
percent less storage with NetApp® compared to traditional
storage. NetApp is committed to help customers drive cost
inefficiencies out of their data centers and tap into the
unrealized potential of their virtual infrastructures," explained
Mano.

"We are looking at maintaining our leadership in virtualization,
data protection and retention, and Ethernet storage to help
companies maximize their storage utilization and lower total cost
of ownership," said Suresh Nair, Managing Director, NetApp

"We are excited and want to capture new
segments due to the broad range of market growth opportunities,

Malaysia continues to be of strategic
importance to NetApp's business in ASEAN. According to
IDC1, the NetApp business in Malaysia nearly doubled in
revenue terms YoY from 8.2 percent to 15.1 percent.

and gas, financial services and manufacturing sectors, with the
public sector being a fast growing one," said Suresh.

Field Portal and Campaign Express make it easier for our partners
to build their own marketing campaigns and gain easy access to
selling tools, allowing them to stay focused on being the trusted
advisor to their customers. Building on the GetSuccessful Program,
