NetApp Malaysia Leverages Storage Strength to Expand Business Oppurtunities

KUALA LUMPUR , Malaysia . - September 11, 2009 - NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) today announced its business commitment in Malaysia to help customers transform their data center architectures through higher efficiencies and asset utilization, greater power and space savings with innovative data management techniques.

Mano Govindaraju, Country Manager, NetApp Malaysia, attributed this to healthy product sales and the need for companies to seek more cost-effective storage solutions amidst challenging economic pressures.

"Storage efficiency is seen to be the primary demand driver to gain power and space savings in this difficult economic period. In this context, NetApp offers a 50 percent Virtualization Guarantee* Program for VMware®, Citrix® and Microsoft® virtual environments to help companies use 50 percent less storage with NetApp® compared to traditional storage. NetApp is committed to help customers drive cost inefficiencies out of their data centers and tap into the unrealized potential of their virtual infrastructures," explained Mano.

Priorities for FY2010
"We are looking at maintaining our leadership in virtualization, data protection and retention, and Ethernet storage to help companies maximize their storage utilization and lower total cost of ownership," said Suresh Nair, Managing Director, NetApp ASEAN.

"We are excited and want to capture new segments due to the broad range of market growth opportunities, particularly in the areas of storage virtualization and cloud computing, to realize increased flexibility, faster responsiveness, and lower costs."

Malaysia continues to be of strategic importance to NetApp's business in ASEAN. According to IDC1, the NetApp business in Malaysia nearly doubled in revenue terms YoY from 8.2 percent to 15.1 percent.

"There was significant growth across the oil and gas, financial services and manufacturing sectors, with the public sector being a fast growing one," said Suresh.

NetApp recently announced new enhancements to the NetApp Partner Program, formerly known as the VIP Program, with the introduction of new infrastructure and enablement tools to help make doing business with NetApp easier for partners.

"NetApp is dedicated to invest in our partners to further their businesses and open new opportunities," stated Mano. "High-impact enablement tools such as the NetApp Field Portal and Campaign Express make it easier for our partners to build their own marketing campaigns and gain easy access to selling tools, allowing them to stay focused on being the trusted advisor to their customers. Building on the GetSuccessful Program, the Authorized Professional Service Partner Program, Channel Specialization certifications, Objective Attainment Rebate, Incentive Headcount and FastTrack Program, NetApp continues to strengthen our long-term partner relationships."
